It's all about the hardware. This Todd Oldham blazer from Fall/Winter 1992 is cut in black wool with a cropped silhouette and an unexpected handle-bar style detail across the pockets. Gold-tone buttons add another small flash of glamour against the dark wool.
Oldham had a thing for taking familiar pieces of American sportswear and giving them an unexpected, playful twist. This one would be particularly good with high-waisted trousers or a long, slim skirt, keeping the proportions clean and letting the cropped shape stand out.
