Worn by actress Lainie Kazan in 1969, this gown with its detachable cape was famously worn by her in the October 1970 issue of Playboy. Originally created for the iconic Elizabeth the First store, this gown was a collaborative effort between Bob Mackie, Ray Aghayan, and Elizabeth Courtney for the opening of Mackie's Elizabeth The First Store in 1969.
Expertly designed, this vintage gown features a stunning detachable cape and pleated chiffon fabric adorned with intricate sequins. There is a back-center zipper, and the interior of the gown is fully lined and hand-stitched.
